My name is Łukasz Kowalik. I have been working with English since 2001 as a teacher, translator and voice-over artist.
Currently, I teach English as a Second Language in an International Baccalaureate Preparation School. I also run a Theory of Knowledge course for diploma students. In everyday work, I use EdTech tools. When planning, I base classes on the assumptions of blended learning and Content and Language Integrated Learning.
I am a member of the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language in Poland – IATEFL Poland as well as Media Education Society in Poland.
In 2020, I received a scholarship from the budget of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage for the project “EdTech for culture. Attractive and engaging ways of communicating with the young generation”.
I have taught English at three levels in the Polish education system: junior high school, high school and college. I taught classes in such subjects as Geography in English, Life and Institutions of English-speaking countries, Phonetics and Phonology, and Practical Grammar.
I devote a considerable part of my time to the work of a translator and interpreter. I provide written translations (including marketing, social sciences and culture, including music, contemporary art, museology, radio theatre and reportage) and oral: simultaneous and consecutive (also in the field of technology, investment and maritime industry).
As an educator and teacher, I take great pleasure in sharing my experience. Using knowledge about how people learn, I conduct training and workshops, among others for pedagogical councils, non-governmental organizations and journalists, from areas such as technology in education and social media (also in education), foreign language teaching methodology and team integration.
I also work with my voice as a voice-over artist and master of ceremonies both in Polish and English for such media as radio dramas, documentaries, mobile applications, promotional spots and mass events.
